Pizza Hut, Temples, and a Birthday

We spent time in Nygoya, Japan with the pharmacy students from Meijo University. These students were so much fun. They wanted to talk and learn about American issues, pharmacy school, shopping, Disney World, and much more. I honestly hated leaving this place.
A little breakfast first
We visited a temple that was surrounded by shopping malls. Not something you see every day.

I was excited to see a burger joint
You see the most random things

There was also a "Maid Cafe" near the temple. From what I've been told, these are very taboo establishments. Very beautiful ladies dress up in old maid outfits like the green one in the picture and serve coffee. I think its a power complex.... I might venture inside one of these to understand it better. (MIGHT)

We also visited the Nygoya castle. It is known for its Golden Dolphins perched on of the roof of the castle.

We have been traveling with two Mercer College of Pharmacy students. One of the students, Nara, had a birthday! We celebrated it at the pizza party that the Meijo University College of Pharmacy hosted. Can you believe that we had Pizza Hut pizza!! The supreme pizza was spot on. Now the seafood pizza, was very unconventional. You can't normally get squid on your pizza, but in Japan you can. The pizzas you see below are their large pizzas. It was the size of our medium pizza. And one Pizza Hut pizza cost $30. (So a pizza party is a very special occasion!)

Then we surprised Nara with a cake!!
She was so surprised

The students were great. As many of you know, I'm not a "hugs" kind of person, but I bear hugged each and every one of these students good-bye.

His shirt says Knoxville
