FUSSA!

24 years ago my mother was a librarian at the Downtown Library in Knoxville, TN. One of her co-workers and best friends was Elaine Stephens. Her daughter, Jarrai, and I were best friends. We both had crazy J names and were born in January, so we thought our friendship was fate. Haha. But then, one day, Jarrai and her family moved.... To JAPAN!

Her mother works as a school librarian at an elementary school on an air force base. Jarrai and her sister live back in the US now, but Elaine is in Fussa, Japan at the Yokota Air Base. So I could not leave Japan without visiting Elaine.

Look how compact her car is.

I am so excited that Elaine and I, were able to spend the day together. I was nice to go on base and hear/read tons of English for the day. My brain was able to rest for a bit.

All I wanted was ice cream in recognizable flavors

When's the last time you saw a Kimono store in a mall?

Having a blast!

Such a fun day!!!
