Spent the day in Kyoto (tokyo scrambled). I want to apologize in advance if the pictures are not perfect. It was pouring rain all day long. If you haven't noticed from my other post, me and my umbrella have become best friends on this trip.
First, we went to the 33 gendo Temple. This temple is full of Buddhist statues. However, photography inside of the temple is highly restricted. So I will attempt to describe what I saw. There are rows of statues that all look similar, but have different facial expressions. The rows resemble an army militia in ready stance. In front of the army are statues of different Buddhist gods. There were 1001 statues inside of the building.
For lunch, per tradition, we had a feast. The meal was full of noodles, soup, fish, tofu, veggies, etc.
Next we took a journey to the "Love Stones". Up the stairs are two large stones. Legend has it, if you stand at one stone, close your eyes and can walk directly to the other stone, true love will soon come to you.
Then we hiked up to the Kiyomizu temple. This is the most famous temple in Kyoto. We saw several cherry blossom trees along the way.
