What's a Muskox?

A muskox is an Ice Age mammal that once roamed the earth alongside saber tooth tigers and woolly mammoths. Their meat taste horrible and their milk is even worse, so they are only farmed for their hair. 

The hair of a muskox is called qivuit. (one of the only words that the "Q" doesn't need a "U", fun fact for scrabble players). Muskoxen are very funny creature.

They only have sweat glands on 
the back of their feet,
thus stepping in their water basin.

In Palmer, AK, there is a Muskox Farm. I got to play with and feed them. They ranged in age from 1 year-13 years. They can weigh up to 1,000 lbs. But when they are babies, they think they're lap dogs. It's really cute.

My favorite was a muskox named Iron Man. Since we both have marvel character names, it was meant to be.
