A 7000 Mile Journey!

36 hours, 3 planes and 7000+ miles later.... I have arrived in Hiroshima, Japan!

The flight was actually very pleasant.

Did not hurt that there was free wine and beer, on the entire flight.

The inflight meals were good as well!

I ended up watch 5 movies on the plane ride. Haha. And instead of peanuts you get rice crackers.

On the flight from Tokyo to Hiroshima.... we got to see Mt. Fuji.

I've only been here a very hours but can tell you that Japan is wonderful. The people are incredibly nice! Things have gone better than expected. Our preceptor picked us up from the airport, along with a male student named Yuta.

I purchased a pocket wifi device, so will have internet/email/and Skype access (Skype ID: Jocasta. Gee) the entire trip! Our dorm rooms are great. They remind you of a Hilton Inn Suite. Each student has their own individual suite with a fridge/freezer, microwave, stove, kitchen sink, utensils, Japanese teapot, hot watermarker, etc. The suites have private bath/showers. Very clean! I was given a fresh linen bundle of crisp white sheets. Like 12 pieces of fresh linens ( still not sure what they are all for). Lol. We have 2 sets of house slippers. Per Japanese culture, once you enter a home, you take off your shoes and put on slippers. You also wear a different pair of slippers for the toilet room. Speaking of toilets....There is a western toilet (what you are use to) and a Japanese toilet (which looks like a shower room. Meant for doing your "business". But you undress. Do your business into a tube/shower. Then spray off. All done on a shower floor looking area.)

We were given a welcome party by 10 Japanese students. They took us out for dinner and introductions. The food was so good, a statement I will make quite often here. We are next door to the 2 Mercer college of pharmacy girls. They are very nice. They have been here for 2 weeks, so they can show is the ropes.

Well time to adjust to the 14 hour time difference...Chat soon.
